Lifetime ban at manar park raises serious concerns about fairness & sexual discrimination

QLD Motor Park Faces Scrutiny for Refusing Entry to only female Attendee without a Valid Reason or Due Process

Community Questions Grow and Calls for Accountability Rise as Manar Park Owners David & Janette Impose a Lifetime Ban on Long-Time Rider After She Voiced Concerns About Harassment and Discrimination by Event Staff after being denied entry with no cause.

In an unprecedented move that has sparked controversy, Manar Park, a popular motorbike & buggy park, has imposed a lifetime ban on a well-respected female member without cause. Sources close to the situation describe it as Disgraceful behaviour from Buggy host Matt Simpson and organiser Darren Tolley. The unjustly ban calls for scrutiny of the park’s policies and practice when handling harassment and discrimination of their own staff. Highlighting a direct contradiction promoted by the leading sponsor of this event Can-am BRP and their ‘Ride out Intimidation‘ program, a global initiative to stop bullying in the sport.

This situation exposes serious concerns regarding transparency, accountability, and due diligence at Manar Park. Despite no substantiated claims against her, the lifetime ban remains in effect by Management staff, as outlined in email communication. Citing the reason for upholding the life-time ban is due to the “tone and nature” of her email rasing concerns about mistreatment, harrasment and sexual discrimination in a sport that is male-dominatored. With no evidence or valid reason to be denied refusal to event has prompted broader discussion about how Manar has treated their female participants.

Experts in workplace and recreational ethics have criticised the park’s approach. “Punitive action without investigation or evidence is alarming,” said one advocate for gender equity in sports. “Venues have a responsibility to ensure safety, fairness and equal opportunity in our sporting community. Manar Park’s response raises questions about their commitment to these standards ”

The woman described being singled out and victimised by park staff for raising questions about ethical conduct and fairness in the sport. The lifetime ban was enforced based on an unverified allegation of a abusive call from unknown caller following her denial of entry to the event. This accusation resulted in her permanent exclusion from all future Manar Park events despite no direct communication with her from event host, organiser or Manar staff nor an opportunity to respond.

The park has provided no public explanation, prompting many to question whether proper procedures, ethical obligations, or duty-of-care standards were followed at any stage.

The woman says “this has left those responsible with no accountability, and a park who prefer to turn a blind eye to the bullying behaviour and harrassment by continuing to back the event hosts without transparency or due process. Highlighting deeper issues within recreational sports culture particularly when women raise concerns in male-dominated spaces”. She claims this decision stemmed from a personal vendetta rather than any legitimate concern or misconduct on her part. With other buggy enthusists and attendees to the event also raising the concerns themselves over the behaviour and unfair treatment towards a very well-respected woman and passionate advocator for the sport. This incident has opened a broader conversation about how Manar Park handles harassment, conflict, and complaints and why:

  • No evidence of wrongdoing has been provided.

  • No due process or investigation was conducted.

  • No dialogue was offered before upholding a lifetime exclusion.

  • A female participant was the one punished, despite reporting harassment.

According to Manar Park facebook posts, the event is sponsored by Can-am BRP who promote anti-bullying, through their ride out intimidation program, providing equal oppportunity and a safe environment for all community memebers to participate in any sport. Yet, in this case, its the host tied to that same brand that is acting as the instigator. The global cause reflects their commitment to combating bullying in all its forms through the Ride Out Intimidation Program. They have created a dedicated platform that offers expert content designed to empower individuals with the knowledge and tools needed to effectively address bullying in schools, workplaces, and beyond. While rasing money through BRP’s Yellow day on the 20th November.

Women in Motorsports: Inclusion, Safety, and Fair Treatment Matter

If this can happen to the only female attendee, who’s next?

Women have been steadily breaking barriers across motorsport industries—rally, off-road, drifting, circuit racing, motocross, and recreational riding. Yet, despite this progress, female participants still face unique challenges, including visibility, safety, equal treatment, and fair complaint handling.

In male-dominated environments like off-road buggy and riding communities, women often navigate:

  • Higher rates of harassment or dismissive behaviour

  • Lack of representation or peer support

  • Pressure to “prove” themselves more than their male counterparts

  • Systems that may not take their concerns seriously

This incident at Manar Park shines a spotlight on the need for stronger protections, better training, clearer policies, and genuine support for women who participate in motorsports across Queensland and Australia.

A safe sport is a thriving sport. Inclusion strengthens communities.

Contact the park for accountability

When a woman is punished for raising legitimate concerns, it sends a message that echoes through the whole sport. This isn’t just about one rider; it is a call for accountability. Women, parents, and all participants should scrutinise Manar Park’s practices before supporting or attending. If an organisation can act this way, who else might be silenced or unfairly punished?
